Are you Pregnant? What are the signs of Pregnancy

If you are planning for pregnancy then the most obvious indications that you might be pregnant are when you miss once or more periods in a row. However our bodies give us subtle hints that a baby is on the way- sometimes even before you have missed your period.

Many women trying planning pregnancy may experience implantation bleeding, which occurs when a fertilized egg implants in the uterus. It's much lighter than menstrual bleeding, and lasts only a day or two.

Other common signs include morning sickness, increased visits to the restroom and constipation and food cravings. Pregnancy in its early stages usually mimics the symptoms of PMS. So you will have cramps, sore breasts, mood swings and bloating. You will feel fatigue too for no apparent reason.

If you have been planning pregnancy or feel you are pregnant, then go for a home pregnancy test. These kits are the best way in identifying the level of HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) in your urine. The analysis is usually correct. If it shows negative then give yourself few weeks. If positive consult a gynaecologist right away. Your life changes now. Your days are filled with prenatal visits, vitamins, walks and fibre rich diet.

If you are getting negative results even after waiting for few weeks, then go for a blood test. Sometimes early testing doesn’t show in home test kits. Blood Tests are ideal in this. Consult a gynaecologist before you consider anything. And yes Congratulations.
